Term 4

Welcome to Term 4.  After a very busy term with production during term 3 we continue with another very busy term.  In two weeks (October 26th) we have our cross country event at Victoria Park.  Year 0/1's are expected to run one lap of the feild so we have been practising running around the courts and school.  We have been focussing on keeping a steady pace so that we don't have to stop during our lap.  Jump Rope for Heart will take place during this term also.  At the moment we are practising some art techniques to use in our calendar art.  Each of us will make a picture that can be made into a calendar or card and purchased by family members.  They make great Christmas presents!

Longest Snake Competition

Today in maths we all tried to make the longest snake that we could out of one piece of A4 paper.  We had to work it out all by ourselves so we were problem solving.  Well done to Samantha and Lazarus for making the longest snakes.  An awesome job.

Inquiry Ignition

Mitchell used the bird puppet and put on a puppet show with Seth. Seth had a tiger puppet and the puppets played together. Jermaine played the ukelele and he had to brush his fingers past the strings. Joseph played the ukelele as well. He liked to strum it. Tajay got dressed up in a beautiful dress and danced to the African music we had listened to from You Tube.

Our visit to the van

Today we went into the Life Ed van. It was our first time. We got to meet Leonie and Harold. Together we helped Leonie complete the body puzzle and worked out the different parts of the food pyramid. Ask us about how traffic lights relate to the food pyramid. Leonie then introduced us to Tam who showed us where some of the body parts we have been learning about are in our body. We were able to name the heart, lungs, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. We also new about bones and the brain. We can't wait till our next session on Monday. Harold is going to sing us a song!
